Public holiday announced in the UAE for the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

The UAE Cabinet has announced that there will be a public holiday to mark the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday.

The day will fall on Sunday, November 18 and will be observed by all ministries and federal offices.

It is thought private sector companies will also observe the holiday, but no announcements have been made yet.

The next public holiday will be at the end of the month, for Commemoration Day.

Since 2015, the holiday has honoured Emiratis who sacrificed their lives for their country.

Then comes National Day on December 2, which should mean a long weekend for both private and public sector workers.
