Free parking in Abu Dhabi for Islamic New Year

Motorists in the capital will get a welcome boost

Islamic New Year, Hijri New Year, Uae public holidays 2018

There’s some welcome news for Abu Dhabi motorists this week.

The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi has announced free parking for two days in honour of the Islamic New Year.

It means parking bays will be free to use from Thursday until Saturday at 7.59am.

Many of us will have Thursday off work to mark the important event, also known as the Hijri New Year.

It comes just a week after free parking on Abu Dhabi island ended.

Parking bays across the capital which were previously free to use now have to be paid for.
