Abu Dhabi speeding fines cut in half

Good news for motorists as fines fall from Dhs600 to Dhs300

Abu Dhabi speeding fines cut in half

Abu Dhabi officials have introduced two new laws motorists need to be aware of.

First off, the 20kmph speed limit buffer has been scrapped as of today, August 12.

It means there will no longer be any leeway if you’re travelling above the prescribed speed limit and you will be fined.

However, there’s some good news too.

Fines for speeding are being cut in half at the same time.

The fine for offending has been reduced from Dhs600 to Dhs300.

Abu Dhabi transport officials said they have removed the buffer to improve road safety in the emirate.

It brings the capital into line with many countries across the world where no such buffer exists.
