UAE officials have announced Eid Al Adha holidays for public sector workers – and it’s a long one.
Their break from work will last the whole week from Sunday, August 19 to Thursday, August 23.
It comes as Eid Al Adha is expected to fall on August 21.
Private sector workers, meanwhile, will get three days off to celebrate the important Islamic holiday.
Their holidays, as directed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, will last from Monday August 20 to Wednesday August 22.
It looked to have dashed the hopes of those who thought they might get a five-day weekend.
But companies can use discretion with the dates, so all is not lost.
Many people use Eid Al Adha as a chance to spend quality time with family, while others look to travel.
