Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa

Stay on the edge of the desert and enjoy total relaxation in luxury

Time Out Says

City breaks can be absolutely brilliant. In fact, there’s nothing we love more than ditching our bags and heading out to explore the bars, streets and restaurants around our hotel. But sometimes you want to get away from it all, and for moments like those, Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa comes into play.

Set on the edge of metropolitan Abu Dhabi, where the city meets the sand, it’s a place like no other and is designed for total relaxation.

Despite it’s serene location you don’t have to drive for hours to get here. Al Wathba is just 85 minutes from Dubai Marina and 55 minutes from the Emirates Palace end of Abu Dhabi Corniche.

This is a hotel that takes much inspiration from its surroundings and the country’s heritage and there are loads of things to do that tie in with Emirati and Bedouin culture.

There are falcon shows, horse riding lessons and camel race track tours, as well as a Bedoin desert dining experience.

A Talise Spa provides even more ways to chill out, as does the stunning pool (which has a rather swanky bar Panache). There’s a kids’ club and state-of-the-art gym, too.

There are around 100 rooms and suites and restaurants including the Italian Terra Secca, a lobby lounge and all-day dining venue. Drinks on the rooftop bar.

Al Mesayan are also a must.
