We took a look around the restaurant at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island before it opens to the public to get a taste of what to expect.
The restaurant impresses the minute you walk in. Kitted out in warm tones of golden and red, its dining room features a ‘live’ green wall. There’s also a covered deck that is bound to be a popular spot as it gets cooler. Those who fancy a more intimate evening can head to the lounge area that is located near the amber-lit bar. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure there’s plenty of natural light, along with view of the island.
As for the food, 99 Sushi Bar describes its menu as avant-garde and innovative and focuses on quality and seasonal produce.
Signature dishes include wagyu tartare with sesame oil and chili on seaweed bread pastry, Sujime sea bass seared in high temperature olive oil, seared fois-gras nigiri and toro sashimi.
Time to practice your chopstick skills.
Open daily 12.30pm-3.30pm, 7pm-midnight from Oct 8.The Galleria, Al Maryah Island (050 548 0369).
