We’ve got some exciting news for all the 1990s children in Abu Dhabi.

Westlife’s Brian McFadden has just been announced as the headliner for one of the capital’s biggest musical events, the Sunset Music Festival.
Yes that’s right, that same face that used to be pinned to your bedroom walls will be performing right here in the capital.

Taking place on April 19 at Zayed Sports City, McFadden will be performing a selection of the Irish boyband’s biggest hits.

We’re talking about emotional ballads like Flying Without Wings, and sing-along anthems such as World of our Own. It’s bound to be a total nostalgia-fest.

The smooth crooner will also be treating us to songs from his upcoming solo album Soul Jam, and he’ll be joined on stage by a talented eight-piece band.

Amongst the artists getting the crowd warmed up for the Australia’s Got Talent judge will be British band Toploader. Perhaps best known for their hit remake of Dancing in the Moonlight in 2000, they have previously opened for other huge bands such as Coldplay and Muse.

Also on the line-up is pop-rock band Dodgy. After rising to fame during the Britpop era, they will be performing a selection of their biggest tunes. This includes Good Enough, If You’re Thinking of Me and Staying Out for the Summer.

Meanwhile, Scottish singer-songwriter Sandi Thom is bringing her chilled-out vibes to the musical celebration. Her double platinum-selling single I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker is sure to get the whole crowd singing along with her.

Last but not least, UAE-based singer Sam Tring will be bringing some local talent to the stage.

The event kicks off at 4.30pm, and the music goes on right the through until around 11pm.

Tickets are on sale now at sunsetmusicfestival.ae. Early bird passes are available for Dhs195 until January 31, while general admission is Dhs225.

We can’t wait to party like it’s 1999.
