Evening of Russian classics coming to Abu Dhabi

With Russian Christmas and New Year taking place this month, it’s perhaps ideal timing that an evening of Russian classical music and orchestral masterpieces is coming to town.

Emirates Palace Auditorium will play host to the NSO Symphony Orchestra on Friday February 8, for an evening celebrating classical Russian pieces from throughout the ages.

One of the most recognisable pieces to be performed throughout the evening will include a recital of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major. You can also expect to see and hear a 60-piece orchestra recite Mussorgsky’s epic Night on Bald Mountain, as well as the same composer’s Pictures at an Exhibition and the beautiful Adagio from Spartacus by Khachaturian.

“Some of the world’s most exciting classical repertoire comes from Russia and this performance will showcase two of the best-known overtures, with an authentic interpretation by Russian national Nadine, our accomplished Concertmaster,” says Janet Hassouneh, NSO founder and executive director. “The NSO Symphony Orchestra musicians are sure to excel themselves for this wonderful concert of Russian Symphonic Classics and I’m confident our loyal following of music lovers will enjoy a stunning performance.”

Tickets are now available from 800tickets.com, with prices starting from Dhs150.
