More and more, amazing artwork is being commissioned across the UAE.
As part of the For Abu Dhabi initiative, that will see a huge Dhs8bn investment in upgrading the capital, a brand new public artwork has been unveiled.
Located at Marsa Al Bateen, Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra has created a stunning new mural that celebrates diversity, tolerance and respect.
The bold public artwork features the faces of people from different nationalities and backgrounds in front of bright colours and shapes in a kaleidoscopic theme.
This is the first in a range of public artworks planned for the city to be undertaken in the next few years by local and international artists.
"This particular artwork is unique in nature, and is an outlier in the art realm of public murals. It’s the largest of its kind in the region,” said Mohamed Al Khadar, executive director of the Strategic Affairs Sector at Department of Municipalities and Transport.
"Kobra’s stunning artwork comes as one part of ‘For Abu Dhabi’s city-wide activation to create contemporary artistic landmarks across the city.
“By bringing world famous artists to the Emirate, we will foster an atmosphere which encourages creative expression and is in alignment with our moral values.”
We think its amazing and can’t wait to see more art dotted around the city.
