It's art, but not as you know it

Check out this cool augmented reality art exhibition in Abu Dhabi

Art is everywhere in Abu Dhabi and we’re delighted that we can see some amazing pieces right on our doorstep.

From the exhibitions at Louvre Abu Dhabi and Manarat Al Saadiyat to Etihad Modern Art Gallery, Warehouse 421 and the annual Abu Dhabi Art event, we can always get a dose of culture when we need it.

Bringing a new experience to the city, an augmented reality art exhibition has launched in the capital at Nation Towers.

Imagine Nation is an immersive collection of interactive artworks that combine audio-visual art, 3D projections and virtual effects.

The Augmented Reality Art Exhibition is the first display to launch as part of the collection, and, even better, it is free to view from 4pm to 10pm every day at the shopping destination until January 3 2020.

The display has been put together in collaboration with Artivive, augmented reality technology that can be accessed using smartphones and tablets. This clever creation lets you explore new dimensions of the art as it comes to life in different ways.

To interact with the European artworks you will need to download a free app to your phone, or if, for some reason, you can’t download the app there are iPads at Nation Towers available to borrow.

A whole series of shows will also be showcased at the venue over the coming months.

More than 27,000 people are now creating artworks with Artivive across the world, with exhibitions taking place in 92 countries, so it’s a big deal.

This is the first Artivive exhibition to take place in the Middle East, and you won’t want to miss seeing, and interacting with, these beautiful displays created by European artists.
Free. Daily 4pm-10pm, until January 3 2020. Nation Towers, Corniche West, www.nationtowersmall.com.
