Pick up a unique work of art in Abu Dhabi

Have you ever thought of starting your own art collection?

No, we don't mean those Scarface and Pink Floyd posters you had on your walls at university, or the fellas eating their sandwiches on a crane over a black and white New York below.

We will, however doff our caps to you if you have dogs playing pool hanging in your living room.

But, what about unique artworks, one-offs by up-and-coming-local artists? If you think it's out of your price range then think again.

Galleries at MAS is an annual initiative from Abu Dhabi Art, which is designed to allow people to buy original artworks that they can afford.

Okay, the pieces will cost you more than a print from Ikea, but can you put a price on creativity?

The pieces available are on show at Manarat Al Saadiyat until June 8.

The collection includes work from ten of Abu Dhabi's galleries and includes photography and paintings starting from  Dhs350, as well as prints and paintings from by established artists such as Abdul Qader Al Rais, Hassan Hajjaj and Zhivago Duncan.

Until Jun 8. Manarat Al Saadiyat, www.abudhabiart.ae.
