Things aren’t quite what they seem at this Abu Dhabi event

Walk upside down in the Yas House of Illusion

You can do so many amazing things in Abu Dhabi. But up until now, hanging upside down from the ceiling and stepping into paintings were two of the few things that just weren’t possible.

However, the Yas House of Illusion has changed all that.

Held at Town Square in Yas Mall, the interactive house has four rooms that are each designed to trick our minds into seeing amazing things. It’s also totally free to enter.

By mixing augmented reality, 3D art and optical illusions, the huge shopping mall has created some amazing experiences and photo opportunities just for us. It’s so good you won’t even need a filter.

Running for four days from Wednesday, September 19 to Saturday, September 22, the event is a clever and inventive way of showcasing the diverse range of homeware stores that are found in Yas Mall. For each day of the exhibition, the Room of Hidden Treasures is put together by a different interior design brand.

As well as collecting awe-inspiring snaps for Instagram, visitors can also use an app to discover secret prizes.

Plus, Yas Mall will be giving a free Amazon Echo speaker to the first 25 shoppers who spend over Dhs5,000 at the centre’s home fashion stores. Among other things, this evolutionary speaker is capable of playing music, searching the web, and controlling your mobile apps.

Free. Sep 19-22. Town Square, Yas Mall, Yas Island (800 927 6255).
