NYU Abu Dhabi’s (NYUAD) Art Gallery is marking the opening of its first ever digital archive by hosting a series of online events that you can join from home.

The institute has revealed a schedule to virtually unite art and culture lovers in the city with artists and curators from past exhibitions through the Gallery’s first-ever digital archive.

TRACE: Archives and Reunions will consist of ten events and fortnightly archive releases allowing viewers to digitally explore each of the NYUAD Art Gallery’s past exhibitions from the comfort of their sofas, while providing a chance to interact with others and listen to talks with the artists.

The first event of the series reunited the UAE artists from Speculative Landscapes, an NYUAD exhibition of commissioned installations by four UAE-based artists. The digital gallery is now live.

To take part in any of the talks, which take place every other Tuesday, and for the full line-up all you have to do is register on the NYU website prior to the event.

This isn’t the institute’s first attempt at adapting to the current climate by extending their offerings to a digital platform in support social distancing and staying home to fight against the spread of COVID-19. The university recently launched a series of virtual lectures exploring the ancient Arab world which is also available for history enthusiast who need extra entertainment at home.
