It’s the perfect time of year for gathering friends, getting the barbecue out and enjoying great food in the sun.

And soon there will be dedicated grill spots in the capital’s parks due to a new initiative by Abu Dhabi Municipality.

Plans to install a total of 39 free grilling units have been revealed – much to the delight of BBQ lovers in the city.

It is hoped the new units will bring a stop to problems with visitors using green spaces and sidewalks for their own grills, which can damage agricultural assets.

The project will see 15 units installed in the Dolphin Park at the Eastern Mangroves Corniche and 24 units along Abu Dhabi Corniche.

It is thought they will be ready for action in the second quarter of 2018.

We can’t wait!
