The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort to host a charity race challenge

The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort is to will host a race challenge on its beach on Friday, December 8 to raise funds for children’s healthcare.

In aid of Al Jalila Foundation, the Run, Swim, Run biathlon will be open to all ages, from toddlers to adults.

The race will have six entry categories: junior and adult entrants must complete two 1,600 m runs plus a 500 m swim in between; cadets, aged 11 to 14, must complete two half-kilometer runs, with a 250 m swim in between; those under the age of 10 will be put through their paces with two 200 m dashes, plus a 50 m wade.

Entry costs Dhs150 per person with all the funds raised going to Al Jalila Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to medical education and research. Founded in 2013 by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, it grants scholarships to student physicians and funds research into the Arabian Gulf’s most prevalent conditions.

“Giving back to the community in which we operate is one of our top priorities at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi,” said hotel manager, Marwan Fadel.
