Le Méridien Abu Dhabi hotel is going to great lengths to aid a good cause – by playing host to an open swim event in aid of a vital water sanitation project by global charity UNICEF.

The downtown resort hotel has joined forces with Gulf Multisport to organise the third annual Swim for Children open water event at Le Méridien beach on November 11.

Charity champions can make a big splash in the 1km swim off from the beach, while a series of shorter swims will also be held to meet all ages and abilities.

The sporting spectacular will be capped off by the fun-packed inflatable race, free to enter to all who have entered other races during the day.

The family-friendly bonanza is all part of the Road to Awareness initiative, which aims to raise all-important funds for UNICEF’s ongoing bid to provide clean drinking water and proper sanitation facilities for people across Africa and the Middle East.

All proceeds from the eagerly-awaited event will go to the UNICEF project.

Entry fees for single race are Dhs130.
