Armed Forces Officers Club to host breast cancer Zumbathon

Abu Dhabi hotel announce Pinktober event with proceeds going to charity

The Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel Abu Dhabi is inviting women to join them in the fight against breast cancer by taking part in a Zumbathon at the hotel on Saturday 28th October, 2017.

The charity event has been organised in support of Pinktober, which over the past 16 years has raised millions of dollars globally for breast cancer awareness and research.

Women will gather for a two-hour energetic aerobic fitness programme from 4 to 6 inspired by various styles of dance focusing on toning the body. Admission is Dhs50 and will be donated to the Pinktober campaign.

Tina Pavlova, Recreation Director at AFOCH, commented: “We are delighted to be raising funds for breast cancer research and awareness by organising this special event for women. This event is part of our ongoing CSR efforts and we hope that community members will join us at the ‘Zumbathon’ to support this important cause.”

There will be a lecture on breast cancer, the importance of annual mammograms and self-check-ups will be hosted by a doctor from Mediclinic at the Al Maqta Sports Hall from 3 to 4 pm, prior to the Zumbathon. Educational materials including gifts from Technogym, Mediclinic and AFOCH will be distributed to attendees.

Sat Oct 28, 4-6pm. Al Maqta Sports Hall, Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel, Khor Al Maqta (02 441 5900).
