Biologique Recherche in Abu Dhabi

French skincare brand Biologique Recherche now available at the Four Seasons

Has a spring packed with brunches and beaches left your skin lacking a little oomph? Just as our bodies need different nourishment at different times of the year, so do our faces. This is something the founders of renowned French skincare brand and celebrity favourite Biologique Recherche know all too well.

Founded over 40 years ago by a biochemist and a physiotherapist – a husband and wife team – the French skincare brand prides itself on a reputation for “astounding effectiveness” and their cult-classic facials have now arrived right here in Abu Dhabi. They are exclusively available at the Four Season’s Dhalia Spa at Al Maryah Island, which is also celebrating its first birthday this week. The spa is spread over two floors in an idyllic waterfront setting, and their heated loungers are a dream for stiff backs.

This is beauty care with a difference. Ingredients are pure, concentrated, and raw, and with Biologique Recherche there are no off-the-peg treatments.

Facialists receive a month of rigorous training so they can treat, repair and restore the skin’s beauty. Each facial is personalised following an instant skin analysis, and the skin is cared for based on its needs at that moment, rather than through the general concept of “skin type”.

“The skin changes often, and it constantly needs to be assessed,” said Rupert Schmid, Chairman of Biologique Recherche. “Just as your body needs different food in summer and in winter, so your skin needs different treatment, even on different days or weeks.”

The customised Biologique Recherche facial will be available in 60- and 80-minute appointments. The three-stage treatment is accompanied by a lifting massage carried out one half of the face at a time, and the effects are immediately impressive. The spa stocks the full range of products, including legendary exfoliating toner P50.
Dahlia Spa is open daily 9am-9pm. For more information and bookings call 02 333 2500 or email
