Stars 'N' Bars
Time Out Says
Stars ’N’ Bars on Yas Marina is the opposite to anything sophisticated. The whole concept is really very silly, and that’s 100 percent a good thing.
Mimicking the interior of the American-style sports bar, it looks a bit like it’s been created by a teenage boy.
One corner is dedicated to retro arcade games, while the stage on the opposite side of the room is regularly filled by live bands blasting out rock and pop hits to the packed dance floor.
Sporting events are shown on the big screens that are scattered throughout the bars, the chairs look like seats from race cars, and even the glass-topped tables have sports memorabilia displayed inside.
Outside there’s more seating and also another bar. As we’ve come on a Friday evening, both areas are full of party people unwinding after a long week.
We assume that some of the crowd are also here to make the most of the ladies’ night deal, which offers girls three complimentary drinks.
The same deal also applies on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, while other weekly events include country music, karaoke and quiz nights.
Whether you want to get dressed up in your flashiest weekend outfit, or chuck on a hoodie and trainers, nothing looks out of place at this Yas Island hotspot.
We’re drawn into taking part in a lively party game, where the red cups make us feel like we’ve entered an American Rom-Com.
The food menu is a treat, too. Not really for the health-conscious, here you can snack on sliders, nachos, chicken wings and other Stateside classics.
If you fancy a night off from being a grown up, this is just what you need.
The posey crowd is nowhere to be seen, and it’s all exceptionally good fun.
