Stars 'N' Bars
Time Out Says
It’s covered in glass, we should explain. As are other jerseys and overalls from sporting superstars who’ve graced Formula 1, rugby and cricket. It’s a sport-lover’s dream.
If you can tear yourself
away from the memorabilia, you’ll be able to catch the latest action on one of the 76 screens. And then there’s the food to consider.
This is clearly a sports bar, so you can safely assume what’s on the menu. If you guessed nachos, burgers and fish and chips, you are correct. And these bar food staples are churned out impressively, especially the chunky, juicy, meaty burgers.
But stray into the seafood and main course sections and you’ll find a pleasing variety of dishes. In particular, there’s the smoky oven roasted chicken, marinated in a barbecue sauce that doesn’t overpower. Rough-cut vegetables and creamy mashed potato complete this rustic dish.
There’s even a no-smoking section towards the back of the bar, and a pleasant terrace, too. But it’s hard to resist the museum of sport inside. Grab a burger and watch the match and you won’t go far wrong here.
The bottom line
A sports bar with food a cut above the norm.
