Time Out Says
They might all be playing the same game, but not everyone can be Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi (we know it is painful to hear, but it’s time to accept the truth).
But, since opening, we’ve viewed Sports Café, with its prime location in Fairmont Bab Al Bahr and its sophisticated setting complete with a marble-topped bar and comfy leather chairs, as being very much a firm fixture in the top flight.
The sleek and welcoming bar scores high with us as we arrive and we are instantly impressed by the bank of large TV screens beaming back live sport from across the globe.
The place is called Sports Café, after all, so we are happy to see that catering to the needs of the avid fan is very much the priority here. And even if you don’t have to have a team to follow you can still enjoy the lively atmosphere.
Guests can opt to take up a seat at the spacious bar, above which a number of high-definition screens are positioned. It’s nice and handy when you are ordering a drink, as you don’t have to miss a single minute of the sporting action. You could also take it easy in the lounge area while you take in a game or two.
This is definitely a great spot to get settled in and while away an afternoon or evening. And there are a wide variety of beverages available, plus an extensive menu of quality pub grub served at reasonable prices.
If you are a sports lover, this is the perfect match for you.
The bottom line
A classy bar that delivers the goods.
