Sho Cho Japanese Restaurant & Lounge
Time Out Says
However, once you’re settled on the terrace and are looking out over Khor Al Maqta, those niggles fade away. There are
a few venues along this stretch of canal, some of them a lot newer and more hip than Sho Cho, but there’s still plenty to recommend about this sleek bar and sushi restaurant.
For those who like to splash out, there are plenty of high-end drinks choices, with some expensive vintage grape, bubbly and Japanese short drink options. Most of us will be looking at the lower end of the spectrum, however, and for that there are bottles of hops, glasses of grape and mixed drinks that come in at around the same price you’ll find in similar spots.
Something Sho Cho does well, though, has to be its regular deals. Brunch is very reasonable (under Dhs250), the Wednesday ladies’ night offers free mixed drinks and sparkling grape until 1am, and there are daily Dhs30 happy hours and other all-in packages during the week.
Head here for sundowners and some maki rolls, especially if you have guests in town, as the view is great as the evening draws in.
It’s not the newest kid on the block, but Sho Cho is still worth your time.
The bottom line
A place for sundowners and happy hour.
