Time Out Says
Until now it has functioned as the restaurant’s pre- or post-dinner destination, a “secret” that we were pleased to be in on. However, we presume secret destinations can’t be all that good for business, so the time has come for the restaurant, and the hotel it lives beneath, Rosewood Abu Dhabi, to want to start shouting about it. And shout about it they should.
The newly crowned Dragon’s Tooth is as good a restaurant bar as you will find, but we’ve always been happy to visit it regardless of whether we’re stopping off at the dining room as well (though we recommend you check it out
if you haven’t already). But one of the main draws has always been its members bar-style feeling of exclusivity, and on this visit there are more people in than ever before. Good for the takings, of course, but not quite so good for the chilled vibe.
In fairness, the extra, boisterous guests don’t spoil our latest visit. Sitting at the bar and watching the skilled
mixologists at work is really something, and the creative menu is testament to their talent.
The music playing also adds to the ambience, with a mix of cult funk and soul tunes floating our boat on this occasion.
For fans of serious drinks, excellent service and bartending and chilled vibes that allow you to chat with your company, there are few better venues in the city.
Put simply, if we lived near Dragon’s Tooth we’d be in there most nights. If letting the cat out of the bag means we get to keep it, then we’re all for it.
The bottom line
A must-try for the discerning Abu Dhabian.
