Belgian Café Abu Dhabi
Time Out Says
So when a watering-hole has been quenching the thirst of the capital’s bon vivants for close to a decade, it really does feel like part of the furniture.
But we have always felt that familiarity breeds contentment when it comes to the original (and, to some, still the best)
of the three Belgian Café’s to be found in the city.
The InterContinental Abu Dhabi stalwart first swung open its doors back in 2009 and, much like the grand hotel it is housed in, it might lack the sparkle of newer offerings.
While it may not dazzle on first glance, however, you always feel right at home here.
The dimly-lit venue, with its wooden interiors, has a warm and welcoming feel.
There are a smattering of screens where you can watch sporting action unfold from one of the comfy booths and decide upon your choice of the array of Belgian beverages and authentic dishes.
The venue is a great place for a quiet after-work drink or for a chilled-out meal with friends, and there are some top deals.
Before the weather gets too hot, we also recommend tearing yourself away from the charming bar to sit outside on the spacious terrace to soak up some lovely marina views.
When it’s not happy hour, the price of premium Belgian beverages will set you back a little bit more than in other places, but you won’t feel short changed by the quality food and drinks you’ll receive.
Coming back to Belgian Café feels like being reacquainted with an old friend. We won’t leave it so long next time.
The bottom line
Classy bar still going strong.
