Easy Tiger

A fantastic new spot at the Al Ain Palace hotel

You can’t accuse the owners of this place of resting on their laurels. Since opening, Easy Tiger, there has been a non-stop introduction of deals, offers and events to tempt the city’s residents into paying a visit.

We say you should absolutely do it. This friendly, casual spot has most things covered. Good-value drinks? You got it. Sport on big screens? Absolutely. A pool table? Yep. Tasty bar food? Yes, that, too. Live music, ladies’ nights, brunch, quizzes? Check, check, check.

We visit on a weekday night and find the place pleasantly full ― not rammed by any means but also with enough people to give it an atmosphere.

We settle into a booth and are pleasantly surprised by the array of hops on offer, and how cheap they are. It’s happy hour and pints are around the Dhs20 mark. There’s also a special promotion on one tap all-day-round. The food menu is tempting, too, and we order some bar snacks, including very spicy chicken wings.

Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, offering recommendations when it comes to food and drinks and having the knack of popping up when our glasses are getting empty.

The bar itself is a good-looker and it’s refreshing to see a new bar open with a bit of style in an old hotel. Anyone who’s spent any time in the likes of Lock, Stock and Barrel in Dubai will get it ― bare brick walls, steel beams, LED screens ― but there’s nowhere else really like in Abu Dhabi that we can think of.

Weekly events include the Tigress Ladies’ Night every Tuesday (it’s Dhs50 for unlimited sparkling and house pours, and bar bites between 8pm and 4am). the Roar open mic night on Wednesdays, a quiz on a Thursday night and the Cheesy Tiger Friday brunch.

With loads of deals, good service, regular entertainment and a fresh, fun approach to running the venue, we’re glad Easy Tiger has opened its doors.
