Abu Dhabi's Buddha-Bar Beach launches brunch to celebrate turning one

There are few things we love more in Abu Dhabi than having a night out with our pals, but it’s not often that we get the opportunity to party for a whole 12 hours.

However, dreamy beachside venue Buddha-Bar Beach will soon be turning one and is celebrating in a predictably amazing fashion.

On April 26, the festivities will run from 1pm through until 2am, with a three-hour brunch followed by back-to-back sets from DJ Darly, Duo Violins and DJ Ahmet Kilic.

The slick Saadiyat Island bar is one of our favourite places to hang out any night of the week, and up until now the only thing missing is a Friday brunch.

So it’s only fitting that the venue’s first ever brunch is held on its birthday. Served from 1pm until 4pm, the feast will include cold and hot starters, sushi and robata stations, sharing-style main courses, and a dessert corner. Food-only packages cost Dhs350 and you can get free-flowing house beverages too for Dhs475.

The music starts from the moment the brunch begins, with DJ Darly up first on the decks. The Brazilian music producer will be entertaining the brunchers with her mix of indie, deep house and electronic rhythms from 1pm to 5pm.

Then, from 5pm, much-loved resident DJ Bambina will be bringing her house mixes to the party, while saxophonist Milan Ivkovic will get everyone in the bar moving with his entertaining blend of jazz, pop and blues tunes.

After 10pm, brilliant electric violinists Duo Violins will be performing their creative adaptations of classic, rock and modern tracks.

Finally, the event will end on a high with a set from deep-house legend DJ Ahmet Kilic. With more than 25 years in the music industry, he’ll keep you dancing until it’s finally time to collapse in a taxi home.

You can also catch international house DJ Apollo 84 on April 4, and Ibiza favourite DJ Danny O on April 11.

It looks like we’ll be spending most of April over on the pristine sands of Saadiyat Island, and we can see no downsides to that at all.

DJ sets: free. Brunch: Dhs350 (food), Dhs475 (house beverages). April 26, from 1pm. The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi (02 498 8888).
