Judge Jules and Hedkandi to headline new festival in Abu Dhabi

We always get excited whenever there’s a new music festival in Abu Dhabi.

When it’s a free event that also marks the opening of a cool new bar with some incredible live music, the anticipation levels are off the scale.

Mr Miyagi’s and The Scene have further cemented Yas Marina as one of the best spots in the capital for a night out, the picturesque area is about to become even better.

The Marina Weekender is taking over the hotspot for two long weekends of music, food and general good times, and we really can’t wait to go and check it out.

The event, running from January 31 to February 3 and February 7 to 10, sees The Scene, Mr. Miyagi’s and new bar Casa De Cuba join forces to bring us a brilliant line up.

Cuban-themed hotspot Casa De Cuba is marking its much-anticipated official opening by bringing some world-renowned DJs to the capital.

While it opened for the F1 weekend in November, and has been running at a soft opening pace for a couple of weeks now, it’s about to become official.

House legend Judge Jules will be performing on Friday February 1 and British label HedKandi will put on one of their incredible parties on Friday February 8. Both nights are totally free to enter.

There’s also a meet-and-greet session with celebrity chef Simon Rimmer on February 7, and a series of great promotions running at all three venues throughout the festival.

With live sport being broadcast at The Scene, as well as face painting and activities for kids, there really is something for everyone.

It looks like February is going to get off to a very good start.
Free. Jan 31-Feb 3, Feb 7-10. Yas Marina, Yas Island.
