Abu Dhabi’s new Mangrove walk has officially opened to the public.
Back in November it was announced that a brand new attraction showcasing the capital’s natural mangroves would open in early 2020.
The new attraction on Jubail Island, located between Saadiyat Island and Yas Island, opened to the public on January 30.
The walkway is open daily from 8am to 6.30pm. It's free of charge and will allow you to take a stroll through the mangroves, explore the natural landscape and go wildlife spotting.
There are three pathways, the longest covers a distance of 2km and the shortest is 1km.
A floating platforms with netting is also on site where you can take a look at the marine life underwater.
Many readers on Time Out Abu Dhabi’s social media pages had voiced concern over littering and the environmental impact of the new attraction.
The good news is there is a no-food policy at the attraction meaning that litter and packaging taken on to the site will be minimalised to help preserve the natural environment.
Before you visit, it’s worth noting that a maximum holding capacity is in place at the attraction.
If visitor numbers exceed the maximum number you will have to wait for some visitors to leave before being permitted entry into the walkway.
A children's information centre and viewing platform is also at the site.
We can’t wait to check it out.
