Become an acting star with Abu Dhabi masterclasses
Abu Dhabi’s budding actors and actresses are being encouraged to attend a week-long masterclass this summer.
ACT TOO, an educational programme dedicated to offering theatre training with a modern and progressive approach to learning, opens its doors in July.
Whether you dream of winning an Oscar or simply want to try something new, the course is open to all.
In five, two-hour action-packed sessions, topics covered include: improvisation, voice and movement, character development, scene study and presentation style.
Sol Abiad, course designer and theatre instructor at Sorbonne Université Abu Dhabi, said: “ACT TOO workshops are designed to raise confidence, foster self-expression, exercise the imagination and team work.
“These are some key skills that are imperative for young adults in any given profession today. “Students learn from a variety of methods by leading stage directors and practitioners including: Augusto Boal, Jersy Grotowski, Jacques Lecoq, and Konstantin Stanislavski to name a few.”
Classes will take place between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on July 15 to 19 at Sorbonne Université on Reem Island.
For more details on how to sign up, visit their website here, but it must be done before July 9.
