Etihad Modern Art Gallery showcases homegrown talent

A new exhibition highlights emerging female artists

Etihad Modern Art Gallery is drawing inspiration from women as it showcases the UAE’s emerging artists in a new exhibition.

In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, the venue has chosen emerging female artists to show the gulf's new artistic identity to the capital.

Titled The New Identity, it harnesses an increasing interest in the arts in the UAE across the past decade as more universities offer arts course.

The exhibition, which runs from March 12 until April 30, taps into the growing stream of graduate talent.

It includes work from a range of UAE-born artists, including Abu Dhabi’s Mona Haddad, a visual artist heavily influenced by the concept of dreams.

Other talents showcasing their work include Amira Al Awadhi, Alaa Mahmoud Alqedra, Fatimah Almohsen, Maitha Al Muhairy, Taqwa Al Naqbi and Maisoon Al Saleh.

The exhibition opens with a launch evening from 7pm on March 12.

Open March 12 – April 30, Etihad Modern Art Gallery Huwelat Street, Al Bateen Area Abu Dhabi (055 923 2398)
