Al Jahili Fort to host National Day celebrations

Day of entertainment at Al Ain fort

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism will hold a day of National Day events at Al Jahili Fort in Al Ain on Saturday 2 December from 4.30pm to 10pm.

The celebrations will take in the central courtyard of Al Jahili Fort, where visitors can explore a heritage studio explaining the history of the UAE since its foundation.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy traditional entertainment from Harbiya and Ayala performers, followed by an air show from the Emirates Falcons team. There will also be entertainment activities, including competitions, popular games and puzzles, handicrafts and henna and school student’s performances. There will be UAE heritage cuisine on offer.

The celebrations will conclude with an outdoor concert by Emirati singer Harbi Al Ameri, who will perform a selection of songs inspired by patriotism and national pride, as well as his own songs and songs from the UAE Heritage Library.
