When it comes to art and culture in the UAE, Abu Dhabi is one of the most exciting places to be.
First of all, we have a huge collection of world-class art museums heading to Saadiyat Island. But even now, it seems that hardly a week goes by without a new exhibition launching. Art and culture vultures are well-catered for in the capital.
One of the biggest supporters of the art scene in the city is Le Royal Méridien. The hotel has always led the way in its backing for the faculties, through the numerous exhibitions it has hosted in the past. For its latest project, it has teamed up with Abu Dhabi Art Hub, another major player known for its instrumental artist residency programme.
The two have brought together 22 artists from 15 countries for Voyage, an exhibition that takes visitors on a journey across different places and cultures.
Here, we take a closer look at three of the exhibiting artists.
Anna Laura Millacci
The Italian contemporary artist lives and works in Rome and has her own factory in the heart of the city. She combines painting, photography, graphics and design in her art, and works with different materials including resins, stones, plastic, crystals and gold.
The Indian artist has been painting ever since he was a young boy. The last few pages of his school books would be filled with designs he would sketch away at during classes. He graduated with a degree in fine arts from the Jamia Millia Islamia university in Delhi.
This UAE-based Moroccan artist paints by instinct and is known for her vibrant portrayals of women and nature. She chooses to paint with her fingers as she feels it gives her a direct way to express her fears, anger and emotions.
Free. Until Nov 4, 9am until late. Le Royal Méridien, Sheikh Khalifa Street (02 674 2020).
