Coffee festival makes Abu Dhabi debut

Four-day event at Zayed Sports City will celebrate the drink

It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee – as a huge event dedicated to the refreshing beverage gets set to cause a stir in Abu Dhabi.

The first ever Abu Dhabi Coffee Festival will take centre stage at Zayed Sports City from February 27 until March 2.

The four-day bonanza will showcase the UAE’s best roasters and coffee shops and will see an array of fun-packed activities take place.

The caffeine-fuelled festival will feature a latte art throw down on March 1 and 2 and baristas are being encouraged to come down and show off their skills, with prizes ranging from Dhs3,000 to Dhs1,000 for the top three performers.

There will also be an international coffee shop pop-up, a local roasters area for some of the best in the city to serve up some delightful drinks, a multitude of some of the UAE’s most talked about coffee shops and trucks will be taking pride of place and there will be an Aeropress coffee art tasting where visitors can experience the art of AeroPressed espressos and more for themselves.

The coffee craze is sweeping through the capital so why not drink it in at Zayed Sports City.
