Al Ain Zoo is showing it is still ‘glowing’ strong as it marks its milestone 50th anniversary with a spectacular light festival.
The ever-popular tourist spot will kick off Zoolightful on January 14, a fantastic festival featuring dazzling light and art displays and an illuminated garden.
The zoo will be lit up by a host of eye-catching figures, representing reptiles, lions and birds as well as plants and flowers.
At the end of each week, the Glowing Garden will welcome a fleet of food trucks serving up a wide variety of cuisine and hot beverages.
Omar Al-Blooshi, director of marketing and corporate communications at Al Ain Zoo, said: “The Zoo will look like a luminous galaxy, shimmering with various shapes, sizes, types and colors of lights that dazzle the visitors and surprise them.
“In this festival, we are celebrating several occasions. First and foremost is our constant desire to offer visitors with experiences and events that suit their interests, and celebrate our 50-year-old Zoo amidst local and international success.
“We are also celebrating the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, which will be filled with many surprises and pleasant experiences for our visitors. We also did not forget to celebrate the winter season, which is enjoyed by most members of society, young and old. "
From March 25 to 31, visitors will be able to witness a stunning 3D projection mapping reflecting on the walls of the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre, creating a carnival of colours to help bring vibrant nature to life.
Zoolightful will run until March 31. For more information, visit www.alainzoo.ae
