Hero run
It’s the happiest 5k on the planet, and boy are we excited. The Color Run returns to the UAE this November, when Dubai Autodrome will turn super colourful for this year’s hero-themed edition.

The Hero Tour will bring all-new Super and Photo Zones, in addition to the ever-popular Foam Zone for some fun and bubbles.Covered head-to-toe in colour, runners will receive their medal and headband at the finish line before enjoying a party with family and friends at the finish festival.

Book now, get the squad ready, level up your superhero game and join the global phenomenon for its day in the UAE.
From Dhs150. Nov 10 7am-noon. Dubai Autodrome, Dubailand,

Just dance
Kids love dancing, it’s good for their development and having good moves will save them lots of embarassment later on in life. James & Alex Dance Studios offer special kids-focused dance courses that are both educational and fun including ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, musical theatre, dance fusion and acrobatics, starting Saturday September 8. The courses are 15 weeks long and there’s a strict dress code, so put on your dancing gear, kids.
From Dhs1,150 (one-hour class package), Dhs850 (30-minute class package). Sep 8-Dec 20. Concord Tower, Dubai Media City (04 447 0773).

Lunch to save the planet
A lunchbox that the kids love may just be what makes every bite. Some plastic products may contain toxic compounds, and that’s why this bento-style box is a stainless steel alternative. It’s divided into sections to avoid any overlaps (yuck) and is super practical.
Dhs115. Available at Eggs & Soldiers,

Yas Waterworld’s neon nights
Yas Waterworld is bringing back it’s “lit” (pun intended) evenings for families every Friday after dark with a new glowing river, silent disco and themed photo booth, plus an exciting Hydrojet Action show.
Dhs185 (per person). Until Sep 21, Fridays (park open 10am-10pm). Yas Waterworld, Abu Dhabi (02 414 2000).

Smallfoot has arrived
The Warner Bros. movie’s name alone suggests that there may have been some sort of major mishap with a particularly well-known monster. And he’s looking friendlier than ever. From the director of Chicken Run comes an animated adventure for all ages, turning the Bigfoot legend upside down.
In theatres Sep 27. VOX Cinemas UAE,

Mazinger returns
Remember the mighty robot? Spacetoon Pictures has brought him back with Mazinger Z: Infinity. The Japanese animation studio is looking to revive the glory of a wonderful tale about the conflict between good and evil, which is still present in the memory of Arab youth, which comes after more than 40 years of releasing the Mazinger Z and Grendizer series in the Arab world. This time, Koji pilots Mazinger Z once more to regain the peace of the planet.
Now showing. Reel Cinemas UAE.

Superhero party at Marina Mall
Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. If you’ve ever tuned into Cartoon Network, you’re probably very familiar with the cute-but-scary trio. The girls, along with Ben 10, will be putting on a live stage show and taking part in some activations at Dubai Marina Mall. Kids can also enjoy augmented reality games where they get to interact with their heroes and go crazy posing in the photo booth.

The Qix Club at Address Boulevard is the perfect place for little ones aged between four to 12 to take part in more activities than ever. From educational games and arts and crafts sessions to age-appropriate entertainment, the kids will be happy to head there for a few hours a day while mum and dad indulge in some me-time. Hotel guests and residents can avail some free time at the Club.
Dhs50 (per child, hourly). Open daily 9am-7pm.

Bao bun fun
What do bao buns, Nutella and cotton candy have in common? This treat right here is K’NOON’s atayef bao bun – a cross between the steamed bread and Middle Eastern atayif, filled with Nutella, drizzled with caramel and sitting on a bed of cotton candy. This new spot serves modern Lebanese dishes with a twist.
Dhs32. Open daily, Sat-Wed 10am-2am, Thu-Fri 10am-4am. West Wharf Tower, Business Bay, Dubai (04 424 3508).
