Free three-day equestrian event coming to Abu Dhabi

A very family-friendly event is coming to Abu Dhabi, and young riders will want to join in on all the show jumping action.

The sixth edition of the FBMA International Show Jumping Cup will be held at the Al Forsan International Sports Resort from Thursday February 7 until Saturday February 9.

As mums, dads and kids enjoy the outdoors, they’ll get to watch riders of different levels jumping fences from 110cm to 145cm in height at this internationally-ranked show, supervised by the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF),

There will be classes for kids aged 12 to 14 years old and older ones aged 16 and above. To encourage young female riders to compete, there will also be a national show held in parallel for those who wish to sharpen their skills and build up their confidence when it comes to professionally competing in the world of show jumping.

Kids can also try one of many themed games and activations which will be set up in the Equestrian Village or hop on a pony for a free ride. Plus, visitors young and old can enjoy live entertainment, art displays and numerous food trucks.

With the support of the UAEERF and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the cup will be held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, Chief Executive Officer of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Higher Council for Motherhood and Childhood ‘Mother of the Nation’.

Organized by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), under the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the FBMA and Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, this edition of the show promises to be even bigger and better than ever before.
