Review: Unpretentious but stylish steakhouse serving fine food Discuss this article

The new menu at this welcoming steakhouse lists the net price of each dish “so it is actually cheap”, says our waiter.

It would be a whole lot cheaper if we were brought the Dhs213 New York striploin that we asked for instead of the Australian Kobe-style wagyu striploin (a cool Dhs364) instead. It’s absolutely delicious, but for that price, it really should be.

We’ll give the waiter the benefit of the doubt, for while it’s a galling mistake, it really is the only one, and the sole downside of the visit.

Since a steady opening in early 2017, the restaurant has vastly improved. Service (on the whole) is absolutely brilliant, the room is a relaxing, almost casual space (faffy rituals such as choosing mustards or knives are dispensed with) and the alternative soundtrack works.

Prices aren’t too steep, either, compared to other steakhouses in the city. Though there are some high-end cuts of meat, should you have plenty of cash to splash.

The scallop starter is perfect, as is the delicous crab cake. Meat is cooked perfectly and the sides and sauces are top notch. It’s seriously impressive.

The bottom line

Brilliant food and a fantastic place.
