Regular readers will know how much we love this place, especially seeing as we named it Best Steakhouse at our Restaurant Awards in 2017. But, we don’t stop reviewing and re-reviewing venues just because they’ve won an award. If anything, it makes us more interested in seeing what they’re up to in the months after.

With that in mind, we’re back at Butcher & Still and are happy to report that it’s as brilliant as ever. Now the weather is cool you might be tempted to sit on the terrace outside, but we can never quite tear ourselves away from that intricate, period dining room with its prohibition-era feel.

There’s now a few deals that make it better value for money than before. Drinks are two-for-one between 4pm and 8pm, Tuesdays offer a steak, side and sundae from Dhs150 and Thursdays see oysters go for Dhs13 between 4pm and 7pm, so if you haven’t been yet, you now have a few reasons.

Despite the deals and the theme, nothing overshadows the food, which is perfect every time we eat here. And there’s always something new to admire – on this occasion we fall for the black truffle poutine.

If you haven’t been yet, you really should give it a go.
