If you happen to find yourself wandering around the Khalifa Park area in search of a relaxing evening meal, head over to Park Rotana’s Teatro. Its ambience is stylish, yet easy-going and you’ll find groups of friends next to businessmen discussing deals.

The restaurant’s international menu spans Japanese, Chinese, South-East Asian, Indian and Italian. It’s also got a choice of grills for those who enjoy a good cut of meat.

The chefs at Teatro are creative and like to put their own spin on dishes. The Peking duck spring rolls are a well-thought-out take on the classic. They are tasty, generously filled and come with hoisin sauce on the side. Meanwhile, the fragrant pandan chicken – with a tint of green from the leaves’ paste --- is succulent and tender. If you’re looking for an alternative to the usual starters, try this. Elsewhere on the menu, the butter chicken is a safe bet. It is bold in flavour, creamy in texture and is served with a mound of fragrant rice, though you could very well mop the thick sauce with bites of soft, fluffy butter naan bread instead.

Service at Teatro is warm and easy and the friendly staff make your experience a pleasant one. If need a place for a quiet, quick catch-up, away from the chaos of the city, this is a good option.

The bottom line
A relaxed setting with a selection of decent international flavours.

Went there last week, and the food just keeps at the top level we always get there. I don't understand the previous comments about a strange menu. The menu is laid out perfectly, yes even McDonalds menu is confusing to some people, their menu hasn't changed in years, but people seem confused to order. Well I guess thats Abu Dhabi's culinary challenges. You can see clearly as described east meets west. I like Abu Dhabi Teatro over Teatro Dubai.

I went last night (01.12.11) and the service is excellent with a high attention to detail. I ate the rack of lamb, it and the sides were amazing. The bill for 2mains, 3alciholic drinks and a juice came to 400dhs. Which is about par with other restaurants.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening. All our food was excellent, service was attentive and quick. Atmosphere was good, be it a little noisy.
Thai green curry, Pad Thai and prawns all really good. Will definitely make this a regular haunt.

Don't know what your reviewer is talking about. This is one of the best restaurants in AUH.
The pizzas are amazing and the atmosphere is really nice.
Me and the wife eat here at least once a month and never have any complaints.

Went to Teatro a couple of weeks ago as we had an entertainer voucher and Park Rotana is close to where we live. Menu is far too wide and a strange mixture of cuisines. The crispy duck with pancakes to start was very disapointing. The fat was soft - it should have been crispy. I was eating fat in a pancake. Not good! We simply couldn't eat it and we had to send it back. I then had the thai green chicken curry which was nice and creamy but really needed a bit of a kick. My husbands crispy beef again whilst fine texture-wise just lacked any sort of flavour or kick. I would go back (not without vouchers though!) to give it another go and maybe just scrutinise what I chose a bit more. Service was excellent though and they took our constructive criticisms very well indeed.

Menu range is too wide and a little strange - as a result doesn't do anything particularly well and is expensive for both food and wine. Park Rotana needs to learn from its big sister (Beach Rotana) in terms of range and quality of food outlets.
