Upon hearing the name, you may be wondering what this restaurant is all about. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say, and it doesn’t reveal anything about the type of cuisine to expect.

The restaurant is from American celebrity chef Todd English, and serves up dishes with a Mediterranean touch. Carpaccio, calamari, pasta and plenty of seafood options throughout the menu confirm this. But you can also find some wider-reaching influences, through rib-eye steaks, burgers and the impressive flatbreads.

Before you start tucking in, however, you’ll have to decide where to sit. You’ve got some outdoor seating, amid the beautiful Venetian Village. Then you’ve got the dark and atmospheric bar area, or the rather grand, leather-seated main dining space.

But when the food arrives, it starts to feel like a trattoria. It’s rustic fare, especially the flatbreads, loaded with chunky toppings. The steaks, too, are impressively hearty.

The menu does get more upmarket in places, with intricate touches to the presentation. But keeping it simple produces the best results at Olives.

The bottom line
Satisfying, hearty cuisine awaits at this cool restaurant.
