Tucked into a corner of the Venetian Village within the grounds of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel you’ll find this impressive Emirati restaurant. There is a cosy outside seating area with traditional Arabic majlis, and the restaurant is themed on an old-style Emirati scene. The staff are friendly and attentive, and we’ve been impressed with the options on the menu. Try the large mixed appetiser, which includes koftat samak (fish cakes), hobool (fried fish eggs in Arabic spices) and samboosa (a kind of samosa). Fancy something lighter? Try the robyan mashwi (grilled jumbo shrimp) and shorbat adas (lentil soup). There is a wealth of traditional options on the menu and favourites including mutton biryani in a rich tomato sauce on a bed of rice. A wealth of date-based puddings will keep you satisfied for dessert, rounding off an Emirati experience to remember.
