There are many reasons to love 55&5th The Grill. From the fascinating menu and top service to the stunning venue and juicy steaks, it ticks all the boxes for us.

We’ve come for an early dinner, and we opt for a candlelit table on the outside terrace. On arrival we’re asked for our names, and every member of staff who approaches our table has memorised it.

For starters we order the crudo di Wagyu, which consists of striploin, Parmesan and sardine paste, topped with mustard mayonnaise. Although small, the dish is rich in flavour and unique. As an added a bonus, we’re also served a taster portion of the capelletti starter – fontina cheese, truffle butter sauce and chestnut purée. We’re impressed, and will be certainly be ordering the full portion next time.

For the main attraction we opt for the Cornish yellow chicken. The meal contains chicken breast, black truffle chicken skin, quail egg, wild mushrooms and chicken sausage. The only downside is that it’s petite, and is devoured within a couple of minutes. We suggest ordering extra sides with it.

The staff here are out to offer a full experience, and they don’t hold back by offering us sweet treats to round off a top meal.

The Bottom Line
It’s hard to fault this steakhouse.

Last week, we went there both my husband and I as we heard that there was a new menu. After a warm welcome from the staff and being treated with a delicious cocktail at the bar, we started to have dinner. We decided to try some new items for sharing as starter. The Scottish langoustines with sweetbreads and the wagyu beef tartare were well presented and the taste was just wonderful. We then had the braised wagyu cheek and the wagyu striploin as main course. Again, we were surprised by the food as the taste exceed our expectation. The meat was cook perfectly as ordered and the wagyu cheek is one of the best dish I ever had. The side dishes for the meat is also to be complimented. Moreover, the ambiance is good as there is a live band playing some cool music and the service was efficient, professional and elegant. The sommelier will be glad to recommend some wine pairing. On the contrary, its a little bit overpriced but I believe that every dirham spend there worth the experience. We tried this restaurant several times as we live on Saadiyat island and definitely its is one of the best in terms of overall experience you can expect.

We had dinner at 55th & 5th when it first opened and instantly fell in love with it. Sadly, we had to move from Abu Dhabi to live in Al Ain where the selection of fine dining restaurants is very, very limited. We book into the St. Regis for mini breaks as often as we can and a reservation at 55th & 5th is a must. The quality of food and menu selection is perfect for us. Innovative combinations that are very up to date with what's seasonal and fresh. We are always greeted with a friendly welcome from Kirsten Ruffer (Manager,Restaurant, 55 & 5th, The Grill) The staff are very attentive. Love the duo who play live music and the decor and atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxing. I would highly recommend 55th & 5th for any special occasion.

I had a great time with my friends at this restaurant. The food was just amazing. Service was both efficient and elegant. The cote de boeuf is a must try in Abu Dhabi. Will surely come back and recommend.

Horrible decor, far too fussy and overpriced.

Far too many ingredients layered on seemingly for the sake of being fancy. Flavours were totally killed.

The sommellier, Eric, was excellent though.
