Avasa

This posh Indian restaurant makes you feel welcome from the moment you enter. A genuine and friendly greeting at the door, coupled with the long-narrow, almost corridor-like shape creates a homely place to enjoy a curry (or two). The décor is understated but with enough detail through sequined cushions and lotus flower-themed lighting units to tactfully remind you of where you are. Unlike some of its upmarket counterparts, Avasa offers a menu with plenty of choice and the chirpy staff are more than happy to explain dishes and make recommendations – which refreshingly aren’t for the most expensive on the menu. A word of warning, portions are pretty big so order wisely. If you’re looking for a posh curry without an extortionate price tag, Avasa is well worth a visit.
