Al Hanah Bar
Classy establishment heaves with Abu Dhabi’s well-heeled types Discuss this article
This classy establishment heaves with Abu Dhabi’s well-heeled types – and for good reason. This drinking den has a lot going for it; from the louche-yet-sociable mood (aided by the low lighting) and well-upholstered chairs, to the hip rectangular chocolate brown bar and top-notch cocktails – the friendly staff serve a mean mojito. There’s also an extensive range of wine and good-quality beer, plus non-alcoholic options (including an exhaustive list of Chinese teas) for anyone abstaining from alcohol.
Should you fancy a bite to eat, there are some superior snacks on offer: try the selection of mezze, encompassing, as it does, favourites such as falafel and fattoush, and the deliciously-seasoned asparagus and crème fraiche soup, which you’ll want to lap up like a kitten.
Prices match the glamour but service is impeccable and the surroundings suitably handsome. Essentially, Al Hanah is unlikely to ever become a serious destination bar – it’s a tad too far out of town for that – but it does provide a welcome injection of subdued style.
