Hoi An - Restaurant Award Highly Commended
Pricey Asian food with wonderful terrace seating 1 Reviews

Hoi An looks like a throwback to colonial times, with intricate decor and that strange feeling that you could be in the dining room of an important politician’s country house. The food, however, is modern and generally hits the mark.
For starters, the paper rice rolls with various fillings and dips look and taste light and delicate. The seared rare beef is, again, light enough not to overfill before a main course, but substantial enough to be a worthy eat.
A jaw-dropping main dish that has to be seen to be believed is the tiger prawns with garlic, chilli, coconut, and risotto. The prawns are more like three giant sea monsters; the kind that drag sailors to their demise in Jules Verne novels. But despite their gargantuan proportions they are tender and well flavoured. The prawns are flown in from the Mekong River in Vietnam specially and this extra effort really pays off.
Desserts at South East Asian restaurants can often disappoint, but at Hoi An they are creative and faultlessly flavoured.
This is somewhere to come for a high-end Asian feed (the Shangri-La remains a great setting) with incredibly attentive service, and, in winter, a pleasant terrace area.
