Finz
Very enjoyable seafood restaurant with al fresco terrace 2 Reviews
There may not be a more perfect place in the capital for al-fresco dining than Finz. During the winter the lofty deck undoubtedly hosts plenty of first dates with its heart-wrenching ocean backdrop. Inside this seafood chalet, rustic rafters and battered fish baskets offset the contemporary open kitchen and wall-spanning windows.
Finz’s spacious interior and attentive but unimposing service allow for a sensational soiree. You will have to push the boat out a little, although that you don’t need to fork out the Dhs560 asking price for beluga caviar to sample the quality sea treats on offer. A half-dozen oysters served on ice and splashed with lemon are real palate tinglers and ease you into an Asian-inspired main course list. The masala dishes are flawless, but it’s hard to turn attentions away from the classics, such as turbot fillet served on light potato and onion, or plump scallops and perfectly pink salmon.
While dishes such as lobster and red mullet carpaccio prettify the menu, there’s no snobbish pretence here – the tone is just right. Exceptional food, picturesque surroundings and a nicely relaxed atmosphere guarantee a sophisticated lunch or dinner.
