Wasabi
Authentic Japanese food in the Al Diar Mina hotel 2 Reviews

While most wasabi found outside Japan these days is an artificial creation of horseradish, mustard and green food colouring, this restaurant is as close to the real thing as you’ll find outside Tokyo.
From the clean-cut decor and modern lines, to the booths with sliding doors and slippers for customers so they can leave their shoes in the hallway, this tiny restaurant offers an originality and flair that most five-star establishments can’t match.
At this Izakaya-style restaurant the best way to experience the food is to order several dishes, or one of the combo ‘boats’ ideal for sharing, so everyone in the party can enjoy the wide range of tastes. In addition, there is a large selection of beef, chicken and pork dishes, together with seafood and noodles. The large shrimp spring rolls on a bed of fried rice are particularly good.
Service is excellent, that is once you get past the Lost in Translation experience of wondering just what the small device sitting in the middle of the table is: what looks like an electronic car key is actually used to summon the waiter.
The sushi here is by far the best in Abu Dhabi, and probably tops anything found across the UAE. Based purely on taste, Wasabi is excellent, but the authenticity of the experience makes it a thoroughly commendable place to eat.
