Some of the dishes you’ll find at Li Jiang are fabulously presented and taste even better than they look. The restaurant is cool and modern – there is a DJ spinning vinyl in one corner and the décor is sleek. Don’t expect to be paying street food prices at The Ritz-Carlton, though. The dishes at Li Jiang are clearly a cut above what we’d get in most South East Asian restaurants around the city. Diners expecting a clear difference between the food here and their usual cheap and cheerful Chinese takeaway should stick to the more unusual offerings like the honey-glazed black cod or risk leaving disappointed with the cost of their dinner. Desserts are also very good and you can watch the chefs work their magic in the open kitchen. The terrace offers fantastic views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque for those preferring al-fresco dining.
