They arguably serve the best pizza in Abu Dhabi – not least because it comes by the half-metre. Yet we would also recommend directing your attention to the rest of the menu. Standouts at this buzzing restaurant are definitely pizza related, but the pastas are good too and so are some of the meat dishes. However, we have a bit of a bugbear about the service at Spaccanapoli. By and large it’s slow and really not great, with mistakes not as infrequent as they should be. To their credit, we have noticed a little improvement lately, and the staff are admittedly unendingly friendly, but if they could just sort out this one problem, we’re sure they’d be leaders of the Italian pack.

Simply wonderful! I am a gluten-free person and have been desperate for a pizza for ages. I went with two non-gluten-free friends who gobbled up all of the home-made gluten-free warm rolls with tapenade (maybe just a bit more garlic!) and then ordered gluten-free pizzas with home made dough so we could all share. They declared them delicious and we ate all but one slice which I took home. The pizza sizes are generous and the toppings delicious. Their chilli oil is hot and spicey, adding another dimension to thee already great food. They have a very large selection of toppings, running to three pages, so you will surely find something that will tempt you. Great service, excellent and a super evening! Highly recommended! I am so grateful to have such a good option for dinner!

As it is now (feb 2013) with Giuseppe making people feel at home and Carmelo in the kitchen, Spaccanapoli is firmly at the top of the list of my Italian places in town, side by side with Biancorosso.
The pizza dough is probably the best in town. I assume some concessions are inevitable when you are abroad, so kudos to Spaccanapoli for not indulging in destroying the italian traditions to please the ignorant crowds: no sign of spag-bol here (as in the infamous Boccaccio) and no elaborated salad served with the pasta (as they now do at Prego): you see, a plate of pasta, "un piatto di pasta" as we say is pasta in a bowl and nothing more; and a pizza is just a pizza. That's the way it should be. There is no main course with side orders on the same plate in Italian Cuisine. That's the way it is through (almost) all the menu at Spaccanapoli. Bravo!
As room for improvement I am dreaming of a richer selection in draught beers (If only one could have a Moretti Baffo d'Oro or one Pedavena with my favourite pizzas...) and a hotter oven for the pizzas.
The sides of the pizza crust must be almost burnt.

Just a word: AMAZING.
I felt really like to be home. That risotto was really delicious, in fact I have to thank Giuseppe for the advice. Speaking of which all the staff were fabulous with all of kindness.
Finally I want to talk about the pizza. It was a great meal just like the Naples one. You really have to taste it.

Thank you guys for the great time.

Amazing food, service. It feels like dining in a small town in Italy where they will remember what you like, how and all... The staff is fantastic very caring without overwellming you. Pizza is a must!

Thanks for sharing your views on your meals at Spaccanapoli.. As a gluten intolerant victim, I am always looking for places to go to where I can be sure i will not be served gluten.
At first, I wasn't sure if Spaccanapoli would be a place to go to. Then I read all your feed backs.
I'll give it a big miss. Thanks

This is a great restaurant, with attentive friendly staff that are also very child friendly.
There is a nice atmosphere and it has a romantic tone.
The food is great especially the Pizza’s which come in a normal round size or the meter long option in which you can choose a different topping for each quarter.
The wine list is long and has nice selections for all to choose from.
I cannot wait to return!

we went to this restaurant last night, the food was terrible and we wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

Had read about this restaurant on Timeout and was very keen on trying it. Sadly, my friend and I were terribly dissappointed. I followed the recommendation of the waitress and went for Pasta with mushrooms which was a tad too greasy and not the best food I've had. My friend found his pizza to be tasteless and did not have more than 2 slices. Diid not have any wine so cannot comment on that.

Other than that the service was decent and the ambience was great. Unfortunately, the food did not match up to the same standards and I dont think I'll go back again.

I had a lasagne which looked amazing, all yummy looking beef, tomatoey and cheesy, but was sadly quite tasteless and bland. The best lasagne in Abu Dhabi is still found at Biella, sadly they are not licensed. Still, I would go back and try other dishes.

Expensive place in comparison with the price !!!
The quality and taste is not matching with the price (medium taste without the strength of country accent), however the pizzas are OK.
There is no pork in the menu which is amazing for the restaurant standard. Moreover, the wine proposed by glass is not good.
There is other place in Abu Dhabi much better at the same price.

I went to this reataurant a few weeks ago and i loved it!
The entree was very well done and the pizza was really nice.

The ambiance was perfect, alive but not noisy or disturbing...and the wine was excellent too.

Thumbs up!

One of the only genuine Italian restaurants in the city.

Excellent service excellent food
My son ordered a half metre pizza and consumed all but 2 slices and is keen to go back -a very high accolade for the pizza
i had mushroom rissotto which was lovely the best I have had since chef Andrea left Boccacio
The choice of wine glass size is very welcome and Luca was very charming
will definitely go back and have already recommended to friends
