Taste of Korea

- Picture 1 of 2

Hidden away on the penthouse floor of the Eclipse Boutique Suites, Taste of Korea is an understated venue that will no doubt make an impression. It’s a rather quaint set-up consisting of two smallish rooms with barely more than ten tables. Wall-length mirrors are used to give the appearance of a larger space, yet although this doesn’t quite work, it still gives the place a unique sense of exclusivity, and it’s definitely novel. It’s also excellent value for money, with a returning string of mostly Korean clientele – always a good sign. Staff are cheerful, informative, evidently proud of the food and happy to make suggestions – and our advice is to stick with these. Unless you like your seafood raw, avoid the crab, but do go for the bibimbap rice dish (our advice is to opt for the hot version) and the gogigui, a traditional Korean-style BBQ that involves broiling strips of marinated beef short ribs, mushrooms and onions at the table. It’s hearty, wholesome fare that hits the spot.
