An all-day diner handily located in central Abu Dhabi, Ginger is a good option for a business lunch, if you don’t mind tackling the buffet. The dishes are varied but with slightly more emphasis on Arabic and Asian cuisine. Check out the salad bar with its fresh options; the seafood and ceviche in particular are better than you would expect from a hotel buffet, while the soups and desserts are also pretty good. The curries are passable but the European meat, potato and vegetable dishes are a bit of a let-down. There isn’t much to the restaurant, but it is airy, clean and the service is good.

Having been to this restaurant on numerous occasions I have always found the staff to be attentive and helpful and not as suggested in the main review, "unsmiling and hurried".

For the money, I have been more than satisfied with the food on offer and it has appeared fresh though it is presented on smaller amounts. If a dish ran out, and the staff had not noticed, a comment resulted in fresh food filling the spot. Small and fresh is ok by me.

The sweets could be better, but I'm a savoury man so all is good for me.

In general its very good and it's not the most expensive place in town.

I went here with my family, the service was very slow and inattentive. Food was very rich and heavy on the stomach, also most dishes were very much like a cheap US motel type cuisine. And we saw many flies around the buffet, not appealing look. I will not recommend this place to nobody. Manager is an arrogant man who does not listen when a client is complains. All in all I would give this place a 2-.

Ginger is a good smaller version of the standard hotel buffet - it does a very good Indian night on Saturdays, seafood on Thursdays, and and a truly pleasant Friday brunch, among other specialities.

The restaurant's emphasis seems to be on fresh, relatively simple dishes that it can carry off well, whether that's the nice, varied choice of salads, the generous choice of hot mains, or a dessert layout that goes beyond the usual creamy, oversweet cakes to includes lots of fresh fruit, nice small cakes, and a killer cheesecake. The staff is friendly and well-trained, and the atmosphere is airy and cheerful. All in all a nice place to eat.
